The 40 metre sprint
The 40 metre sprint is a 40 metre sprint across the college's sports centre. Your time will rank you in grade.
I went poorly in this test considering results of other students and having myself ranked in the second half of the class, despite beating the class average. Reasons why I feel i didn't succeed in this test are because I had been training for long distance courses and the colleges sports centre grounds are not the right type for a sprint. |
2 week programBefore This Training you would want to do stretches such as lifting your leg up on a pole and lunges as well as the foot to bum and hamstrings. For this test you would want to go down to a park and do 10 50 metre sprints on a quick interval for improving your quickness, then a break and then another ten on an interval. Do this 4 times a week for 2 weeks. If things become easy just make the interval faster.

If I had a Runners diet I would have performed better and if they allowed us to do it bare footed I would have gone much better.
